A Brief History Of Pure Essential Oils
Pure essential oils (often referred to as aromatherapy oils) are naturally extracted from the flowers, seeds, fruit, leaves or bark of the plant, these extracts are non-greasy pure essential oils and generally considered to have germicidal, antiseptic, preservative and emotionally therapeutic properties. The term Aromatherapy Oils can be traced back to a French chemist, René Maurice Gattefossé, who accidentally discovered the healing effects of Lavender Essential Oil after he used this to cool his burnt his hand. Following this he went on to research the therapeutic properties of pure essential oils and coined the term 'aromatherapy essential oils' within a scientific research paper.
